Pre- (and Post) Theatre Dining

One of our favourite things about Melbourne is the almost limitless choices of theatre, musicals, dance, exhibitions and special events that grace our city throughout the year. Gimlet is located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD and theatre district, making it just a short walk away from your night-time pursuits - important when time is of the essence. Whether you’re heading to the theatre for the Comedy Festival or to see Wicked, Chicago, Groundhog Day, Cirque du Soleil: Luzia, seeing your favourite band at the Forum, Hamer Hall, or even the MCG - Gimlet is perfectly positioned to be a part of your day or night out on the town.

Order entirely as you please from our menu (with no limiting prix-fixe theatre menu), and join us pre-show for Gimlets and gnocco fritto, an elegant bowl of pasta or roast corn-fed chicken. Walk in post-show to compare notes on the performance over a round of Cavendish House martinis paired with a chocolate and whisky tart and an array of cheeses.

If your show falls on a Friday or Saturday night, partake in our Supper menu from 10pm with the Cheeseburger, or a strip steak from the grill. Maybe even a caviar service if you’re feeling especially lavish on the night.
